Sweet Potato Casserole

A Timeless Holiday Dish

Ingredients

Potatoes:

  • 1 Bag Sweet Potatoes

  • 1/4 Cup Butter

  • 1/2 Tsp Salt

  • 1/4 Cup Heavy Cream

  • 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup


Pecan Crumble Topping:

  • 1/2 Cup chopped Pecans (or walnuts or almonds)

  • 1 Tbsp Cinnamon

  • 1/2 Stick Butter Diced, Room Temperature

  • 4 Tbsp Coconut Sugar

  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg


Preparation

Step 1

Wash and peel potatoes


Step 2

Cut potatoes into 4's, and boil on stove top till softened (around 30 Minutes)


Step 3

While Potatoes are boiling, combine chopped nuts, cinnamon, coconut sugar, nutmeg and butter in bowl gently mashing with a fork until a crumbly mixture forms.


Step 4

Strain potatoes and add potatoes to mixing bowl and mash (with a potatoes mashed or with a hand/stand mixer)


Step 5

Add all remaining Potato ingredients and mix/mash until fully blended, add to baking dish (square or bread loaf pan)


Step 6

Sprinkle crumbly nut mixture from step 3 over the top of the mashed sweet potatoes. Cover with tin foil and baker for 40 Min at 350.
