In our bustling household of seven, the kitchen is more than just a place to prepare meals; it’s the very heart of our home. As a homeschool mom of five, I’ve come to realize that this tiny space serves large orders, not just in terms of food, but in love, laughter, and life lessons.
Every morning begins with the gentle (or not so gentle) clucking of our backyard ladies. Their fresh eggs are not just breakfast; they are a reminder of the lessons I’m imparting to my children—lessons about responsibility, sustainability, and the beauty of Gods creation.
Our backyard garden flourishes (or sometimes withers) just a stones throw from our Little Kitchen. Together, we plant, tend, and harvest, teaching our children the value of patience and the rewards of hard work. The fruits of our labor often find their way to our big table, where we gather not just to eat, but to build memories.
This table, the same one where I grew up, is where I first learned the true meaning of hospitality as I watched my parents open their home to friends and family. Now, I carry on that tradition, welcoming others into our space, sharing meals, and creating a sense of community. The laughter of friends and the chatter of family fill the air, blending with the aroma of home-cooked meals, with an atmosphere of warmth and joy.
In this little kitchen, we are building a legacy of faith, family, and hospitality—one meal at a time. And as we continue to grow, I am grateful for the lessons learned and the memories made, all within the distance from our Little Kitchen to our Big Table.

Recipes
In our Little kitchen, we create a wide range of recipes that cater to every craving and continually adapt for changing health needs. From beef briskets and turkey dinners to fresh baked goods or cooked greens; our collection of recipes from our kitchen is designed to delight. The recipes feature substitutions that accommodate gluten sensitivities and the anti-inflammatory diet necessary for my husband’s recent autoimmune diagnosis.
His diagnosis brought a wave of change to our kitchen, and I embraced the challenge with enthusiasm. It inspired me to reinvent his guilty pleasures—transforming everything from chips and BBQ sauces to fried chicken and cookies into healthier alternatives.
There's been a lot of failed attempts. I repeat a LOT of crashing and burning, but along the way some golden treasures of recipes were discovered that have become household favorites.
The kitchen is my adventure haven, I enjoy the fun of creating and inventing -its a trial and error ,a slow process sometimes to find the right combination that becomes a new family classic.
Here, you’ll find a little bit of everything, blending whole foods and clean ingredients with indulgent baked cookies and treats.
We hope that some of our family favorites make it to your home tables, bringing y'all the same joy, laughter and savory enjoyment, they brings us.
Our Little Garden
Growing Together
Our little backyard garden is a treasure; bringing the essence of farm-to-table right to our home. This gardening journey has been nothing short of beautiful, filled with moments of growth, discovery, and a few (several!) humbling lessons along the way.
Watching my son thrive in this green space has been a joy. It’s incredible to see his enthusiasm as he nurtures our plants (especially considering my own history of having a black thumb, the poor basil plants never stood a chance in my kitchen)
Early days of struggling with a few herbs, have been traded for a vibrant garden bursting with cucumbers, tomatoes, endless leafy greens, celery, and bell peppers. The list goes on, and each new addition feels like a small victory.
Our garden is more than just a patch of soil; it’s an extension of our kitchen. The kids work diligently, helping to grow what we eat and then harvesting the fruits of our labor. Each time we gather fresh produce, it’s a reminder of the hard work and love that goes into our meals. Together, we transform our garden’s generosity into delicious entrees.
Our backyard garden is a testament to the beauty of family, food, and the simple pleasures of life. (also sweat, labor, frustration and borderline heat stroke survival)
